Nowadays, almost everybody wants to lose weight for different reasons. You may want to lose some weight to enhance your body image; you may want to shed a few pounds to improve your health; you may want to manage your weight to save money on food, medical bills and medical insurance. For whatever reasons, weight loss has become has become not only a fad and fancy but also an integral part of the Western culture, especially in the United States, where weight loss is a multi-billion dollar industry.
According to current research, by the age of 10 nearly 60 percent of girls in the United States are already on some kind of a diet. That is not surprising at all, given that obesity has become an epidemic in this country, and weight loss an obsession of the general public.
In spite of the acute awareness of the need to solve weight problems, the public are losing grounds in the battle of the bulge. In the fight against weight loss, it is so easy to lose everything — your sanity, your health, and your money, except your pounds. That is because you have to fight against the food industry, the weight loss industry, and, the worst enemy, yourself.
Oprah Winfrey once told People magazine: “My greatest failure was in believing that the weight loss issue was just about weight.”
She certainly hit the nail on the head: weight loss is not just about body weight or calories. You need an all-round approach to weight problems.
1. You need to change your diet and lifestyle. Eat natural super foods — not their processed counterparts, which are loaded with additives and chemicals. Food manufacturers make foods more appetizing (artificially, of course), enticing you to eat more and, consequently, to gain more. In addition, they generate toxins, which not only damage your health but also cause eating disorders down the road.
2. You need to remove toxins accumulated over years of abuse and misuse of foods. Accumulated toxins prevent efficient elimination. Inefficient elimination means further accumulation of toxicity and weight gain. Take 12 Steps To A Complete Body Detox to detoxify your body for ultimate weight loss. 3. You need to rejuvenate your body. Your body is capable of natural healing, if given the opportunity. Replenish your body with natural food products from WholeFood Farmacy Club. Go organic. Grow your own organic garden, if you are ready to spend a little time.
Looking at the number on the bathroom scale, counting calories, searching for a fad diet — all these only generate guilt and create disappointment and frustration further down the road. They never make you lose weight or solve weight problems. You can never win your battle against the billion-dollar weight loss industry. You lose everything — your money and your self-respect, except your weight.
From my own experience, I have maintained my ideal body weight (160 pounds/5’10″) for the past forty years or so. Healthy weight loss holds the key to effective weight control and weight management.
On this blog, I will share with you everything you need to know about healthy weight loss.
